London Plane and Sycamore

Based on my standard design, this rugby ball urn is made from London plane with two layers of sycamore (white).
 
The timber was processed over several stages to ensure it is as stable as possible before being made into the blank. The lid features a boxwood threaded insert which is secure but can be undone by hand. When tightened it is grain matched and almost seamless.
 
The ball is finished with sanding sealer before a clear wax finish. This provides a mild sheen whilst ensuring the wood is protected and still tactile.
 
A timber kicking tee with a custom plaque will be provided with this ball.
