Inspired by chess chopping boards, this rugby ball is made from contrasting spalted beech and walnut (brown) from my late Grandfather's farm in Somerset. A real eye-catching piece that is always a pleaser among woodworkers.
It features a grain matches seamless threaded lid which can be easily screwed by hand for a secure fit.
Finished with sanding sealer before a clear wax finish to provide a tactile a mild sheen.
The kicking tee is turned to perfectly match the balls profile and is made from the same blank. A custom plaque will be fitted.
